Lindisfarne Project

The kitchen is absolutely a delightful place to prepare and serve our families. There is ease in each aspect.

At D. Williams Builders, we believe a great renovation doesn’t just update a home—it elevates the way people live in it. Recently, we had the privilege of reimagining a humble kitchen in a charming Lindisfarne home, transforming it into a warm, modern space designed for everyday living, effortless cooking, and easy entertaining.

Our brief was simple: refresh the kitchen and introduce a new servery window to connect the space with the outdoor deck. The goal was to create a seamless flow between inside and out—making weekend brunches, family dinners, and casual catchups a little easier and more beautiful.

What We Delivered

This project brought together many elements of our craft, from careful demolition and reframing to tailored joinery, electrical upgrades, and detailed finishing. The heart of the transformation included:

  • A custom servery window, complete with gas struts and a Dekton sill—allowing easy pass-through to the deck and inviting in natural light.

  • Full kitchen rewire and plumbing updates, ensuring everything works as good as it looks.

  • New kitchen joinery and stone benchtops, paired with a white subway tile splash-back and client-selected appliances for a clean, contemporary finish.

  • Plastering, square-set detailing, and fresh paintwork, bringing a refined feel to the renewed space.

  • Feature lighting inside and out, making the kitchen a focal point both day and night.

Challenges & Craftsmanship

As always with existing homes, we approached the project with care—preserving what we could, upgrading what we needed, and respecting the structure throughout. From reinstating original architraves to making good with new skirting and weatherboards, our team combined precision with practicality.

The thoughtful planning and layout is working really well. A great efficient space. The lighting and softness of the dimmable lighting is magic.

The Result

What was once a closed-in kitchen is now a light-filled, functional hub of the home—perfectly tailored to the client’s lifestyle. The new layout offers improved usability, beautiful finishes, and a connection to the outdoors that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Why It Matters

For us, it’s more than just a kitchen renovation—it’s about enriching lives through expert craftsmanship and deep connection. Projects like this remind us why we build: to help people love where they live, with spaces that support how they live.
