New Town Residential Bathroom Project
This renovation wasn’t about creating something new — it was about finally realising what the home had always planned to be
A storage room sat quietly beside the main living areas — useful once, but no longer serving the needs of the household. What the home truly required was something more practical: a spacious, accessible bathroom that could support comfort, safety and independence for the client.
Rather than expanding the footprint of the house, the solution was already there — hidden within the existing layout.
Our role was to carefully transform that storage room into a fully functional bathroom while ensuring the new space felt like it had always belonged to the home.
What We Delivered
For this project, we collaborated with the client right from the design phase. Developing concept plans and assisting with selections to ensure the final outcome was exactly what the client envisioned.

That meant creating a space with generous circulation, a comfortable shower entry, and fixtures positioned to support mobility and ease of use — all while maintaining a calm, traditional/modern aesthetic.
Balancing practicality, structural constraints and design was the key challenge
The room was carefully stripped back and reconfigured to support its new function. Working around a wardrobe that protruded into the room, constructing a nib wall and custom joinery for maximising available storage.
New hydraulic services were introduced, allowing the installation of modern plumbing fixtures and efficient drainage. Floor levels were adjusted to accommodate proper falls and waterproofing, ensuring the bathroom performs reliably over time.
The internal layout was redesigned to prioritise clear movement and comfort. Fixtures were positioned to maximise usable space, allowing the room to feel open and intuitive to navigate.
A walk-in shower provides easy access and removes the need for stepping over a hob or bath edge. Clean lines, neutral finishes and thoughtful lighting ensure the room feels calm and cohesive with the rest of the home.
What was once a storage room now functions as a practical, comfortable bathroom designed for everyday living.
The Result
The new bathroom feels as though it has always been part of the house. The layout flows naturally, the proportions feel balanced, and the balance of modern and traditional finishes create a warm, welcoming space rather than something purely functional.
More importantly, the home now works better for the people who live in it.
Why It Matters
Projects like this highlight the value of thoughtful collaboration between homeowners, designers and skilled trades.
Good renovations are not simply about adding rooms. They are about understanding how people live and shaping spaces to support that.
By reworking the existing structure, carefully integrating new services and applying skilled craftsmanship, a once-underutilised room has been transformed into a space that will support the household for years to come.
It’s a reminder that the most impactful renovations often come not from building bigger — but from building smarter.
